Equipped with a TCXO (temperature compensated crystal oscillator) that does not require standard heating, a high stability of ± 0.1 ppm has been obtained in a wide temperature range covering from 0 ° C to + 50 ° C. It is also possible to input the external standard signal (10 MHz).

A variety of functions allows you to quickly perform split operations even with a single receiver. Rapid split frequency settings, switching of the status band divided by a direct band key and support for external TF clock via an external receiver. A panel layout that allows intuitive management facilitates operation.

– Split frequency settings
In addition to the conventional split frequency setting methods, the TS-990S’s proven split setup functions have been included. For 2kHz SU, press “2” on the numeric keypad after a long press of the SPLIT button and the settings are complete. The divided frequencies can be set within a range of ± 9kHz (1kHz steps).

By connecting another TS-890S or TS-590S / SG * 1 unit to the ANT OUT connector to be used as a sub-receiver * 2 and using the split A transfer function, this can enable assistance in simultaneous 2-wave reception during the split operation * 3.
* 2: a loss of about 3dB (theoretical value) is detected
* 3: frequency transfer, standby mode and secondary audio muting are possible. Requires separate antenna cable and RS-232C crossover cable. Not compatible with combined SP / headphone use.

The unit is compatible with the encoding / encoding of the CW Morse code. Morse code transmission is possible with text input from a USB keyboard. The combined use of models sent from message memories and Morse code transmissions via the panel is also possible.
